What makes @asnteamuk different?

Branded as the most expensive humanitarian response in history, many of you following the refugee crisis will have read various articles about how millions of pounds’ worth of funds have been sent to Greece by the EU with little to show for it.

Many people working with refugees in Greece will also say that they have not seen where this money has been spent either.

This is why we have chosen to work with small grassroots organisations.  We know that money doesn’t grow on trees, and that your donations are precious.

We choose organisations to work with that are voluntary run, this means that your donations are not spent on salaries.  The ASN team work also voluntarily, so that we can maximise your donations and get them where it is needed the most.

Our team self-fund our trips to visit the projects that we support, and foster good working relationships with the organisations we work with.  This means we can see how your donations are making a difference.  The organisations we support account for the money they spend, so we know and trust that its going straight where it’s needed in supporting refugees.

We carefully select the projects and initiatives we support so we are fully confident that your donations will have maximum benefit to the lives of refugees.

We know how the situation can change dramatically and quickly, and the way we are set up means that we can respond quickly and effectively to these changes.

We understand the current issues affecting refugees in Greece which helps direct us to projects that will help change lives.

We want you to know that you can be confident that if you donate to us, you are making a difference, and your donation is having maximum impact.

We have recently expanded our portfolio of projects we are supporting, and we need your continued support to help us help refugees.  Please spread the word about what we do, and if you can spare a few pounds – click

Don’t forget, if you’re a UK tax payer, you can gift aid your donation to make it go even further.

Thank you.
